Carrie: The Musical – Ballyhoo Theatre Mainstage

Expires: July 21, 2024

About the Project

Ballyhoo Theatre Mainstage will be presenting CARRIE: The Musical, October 25 – November 10, 2024.

About the Show: Carrie White is a teenage outcast who longs to fit in. At school, she’s bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she's dominated by her loving but cruelly controlling mother. What none of them know is that Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it. Based on Stephen King's bestselling novel, Carrie features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, music by Michael Gore, and lyrics by Dean Pitchford.

Note: Parents of minors are encouraged to research the content of this musical prior to auditions.

Rehearsal space is still being arranged, but will be in the Ballinger/Edmonds areas. Performances are at The Black Box at Edmonds College. Rehearsals run September 16 – October 24 (evenings and occasional Saturdays, totaling 4-5 days a week). Shows are October 25 – November 10, 2024

Ballyhoo strives to create a casting process that is welcoming and serves those auditioning as well as the creative team in the full exploration of the material.  All body types, races, ethnicities, and abilities are desired for any available role.  Ballyhoo recognizes that most characters are written as binary (using he/him or she/her pronouns) and we invite GNC, genderqueer, transgender, and nonbinary actors to submit for all roles with which they identify. If you have access needs, please let us know. If there is anything that will help to make you comfortable in our audition room, please ask.

Pay: There will be small stipends of $50.00-200.00 which are listed in the role descriptions.
