CASTING CALL: Waiting for Cleo

About the Project

Northwest Film Forum's Filmmaking Fundamentals: Narrative class series has two student short film productions currently in pre-production, with LEAD roles that need to be filled. Compensation is $50 plus Admit 2 passes for Northwest Film Forum. All relevant dates below.

  • Auditions and film shoot both take place at Northwest Film Forum in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood.
  • AUDITION = Monday, May 30, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
  • REHEARSAL = Monday, June 6 from 7:30pm to 8:30pm
  • SHOOT = Saturday, June 11th, from 8:00am to 2:00pm
  • Must schedule audition timeslot with Vee Hua directly. Schedule will take place in 15-to-20-minute intervals and must be in-person.
LOGLINE FOR "WAITING FOR CLEO"
During a chance encounter at a Tuesday matinee, two women confront their seemingly insurmountable generational gap.
BEVERLY (LEAD): Woman, 50+, All Ethnicities
Beverly is confident, independent, soft-spoken, and standoffish. She has been “doing her own thing” for a while and is most comfortable by herself. She loves art of all kinds and frequently goes to weekday matinees at a nearby indie movie theater.
BECCA (LEAD): Woman, 20s, All Ethnicities
An attractive, outgoing young woman in her 20s, Becca has a strong sense of self. She has promised herself to never moderate her strong personality just to make others more comfortable. She was recently fired from her job for speaking her mind about her work conditions, and she has escaped into the closest movie theater to take her mind off it.

Audition Requirements
