Seeking actors with immediate availability for Falstaff and Quickly in HENRY IV

About the Project

New Muses Theatre Company is seeking a non-union actor to immediately join the cast of Shakespeare's Henry IV in the role of FALSTAFF. Actors of the global majority, female, and non-binary identifying actors are especially encouraged to submit for the role.

We are also seeking a non-union actor to fill the role of MISTRESS QUICKLY. (Ideally the actor playing QUICKLY would continue with the role into Henry V in January, but it is not a requirement to be considered.)

The production is currently in rehearsal for an October 8 opening at the Dukesbay Theater in Tacoma and all other roles have been cast.

Actors who submitted during our general auditions in August do not need to resubmit unless your availability has changed.


Actors of all ethnicities and gender identities are encouraged to audition for roles in New Muses Theatre Company productions. Information given on age, gender, etc. is specific to the character as originally written; actors need not personally match the character in age, gender-identity, etc. to submit or be considered. All roles are open to actors of any ethnicity.


Proof of vaccination against the Covid-19 virus is required to work on a New Muses Theatre Company production in any capacity through the end of the 2021-22 Season. To find a vaccination appointment in Washington State please visit

"Vaccinated" is defined as an individual who has received both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine and at least 14 days have passed since the individual's final dose of COVID-19 vaccine.


FALSTAFF (Open to all genders and ethnicities, 30+) A large and physically imposing personality with quick comic wit, strong stage presence, and the ability to move. Some stage combat and physical comedy required. Heavy line load, strong memorization skills are required.

MISTRESS QUICKLY (F or NB, open to all ethnicities, 30+) A wry comic actor with strong stage presence and physical comedy skills.

The production will also be filmed and released for on-demand streaming after the end of the live run.

The vast majority of roles in this season can and will be gender-bent, actors of all gender identities are encouraged to submit for all roles that interest them. ALL roles are open to actors of any ethnicity. Actors of the global majority are especially encouraged to audition.


Compensation: All actors and crew in the production will receive a share of net profit from ticket sales.
