SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE EXTENDED THRU 9/18!! ACT – A CONTEMPORARY THEATRE: “A Christmas Carol” Youth Actor Self-Tape Auditions

About the Project

ACT is seeking non-union Youth Actors aged 16 or younger (must be no older than 16 at the closing performance) for its annual holiday production of A Christmas Carol, directed this year by John Langs and featuring Bradford Farwell as Ebenezer Scrooge (alternating with another actor still to be cast), with Avery Clark and Keiko Green as Mr and Mrs Cratchit.

Rehearsals begin November 7, 2022, for performances November 25 - December 24.

Available roles are open to young actors of all races/ethnicities, gender identities, disabilities, and neuro-diversities. Gender non-conforming, gender-queer, transgender, and non-binary youth artists, please submit for the roles you most identify with.

Self-tape submissions accepted now through September 18th.

In-person callbacks on September 26th at ACT.

Audition Requirements

Youth Actor video presentation should be about 5-6 minutes long and include the following:
(1) Your name, age, and date of birth
(2) Title or character name and source of your monologue and song
(3) Monologue (or short poem) and song (accompanied or a cappella), memorized
(4) Either before or after your monologue and song, please take a couple of minutes to tell us something you’d like us to know about you – this can be a story about something that happened to you, something you love to do, why you want to be part of the show, etc. (Parents, if you want to act as off-camera interviewer to help out, by all means do!)

COVID INFORMATION (thru December 2022): ACT mandates masking, vaccination and boosters against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Testing required a minimum of 3x per week.
