The 11^th Annual Festival of Shorts

Eight original short plays selected from over 100 submissions centering on the theme:

“What would you do: Ethical and Difficult Decisions that we encounter in daily life.”

Audition Dates

Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm.

Audition Location

Edmonds Driftwood Players Office located at 306 Main Street, Edmonds (Bank of America Building, around the back and down the stairs).

Callbacks (By invitation only)

Thursday, January 30, 2020, 7:00 to 10:00 pm.

Rehearsal Dates

February 3 – March 12, 2020.

Monday through Thursday evenings either 6-8 pm or 8-10 pm and possible weekends.  Each show rehearses 2 hours 1x/week, with the exception of Tech Week (March 7-12).

Performance Dates

March 13 – 15, 2020 (Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm) for a total of 4 performances. Performances and strike (immediately following closing performance) are mandatory. This production plays at The Wade James Theatre, home of Edmonds Driftwood Players, 950 Main Street, Edmonds.

SYNOPSIS

Each Short play was chosen because it incorporated the ethical or difficult decisions of one or more of its characters.  Each Short has from two to six actors, with a mix of dramas and comedies.

AUDITION REQUIREMENT

Monologue: prepare a monologue that is two minutes or less, dramatic or comedic.

Headshot and Resume: please bring one copy of each.

CASTING

The following character needs are a summary of all the actors we will need for all eight Shorts.  Actors of all ethnicity, gender and identity are encouraged to audition.  Age ranges are a guideline only.
