About the Project

Summary:
Inspired by the life and work of Jimi Hendrix, this play follows our protagonist, Jesse, on a journey to overcome monsters, perceived or otherwise, through space and seas and heavens. Nevertheless, each setback and success forces Jesse to examine the nature of triumph, what victory really means, whether such is ever absolute, and how to come to ultimately come to a peace and discovery through each step of the journey.

JESSE* – Young, but moreover spirited and young at heart. Not necessarily naïve, but growing and coming into one’s own with a passion to rise and conquer.

THE MAN – Part trickster, part confidant, part guide, with enough heart to occupy each role fully.

THE WOMAN* – Part warrior, part leader, part supporter, with a caring nature for all she protects.

THE MYSTERY – A confused sage. Or enlightened mystic?

THE SOUND - The proud soul of a movement, willing to help others prevail.

THE MONSTER – Possibly multiple actors, but what’s important is the ability to embody menace through voice or action, movement or stillness.

*The roles of Jesse and The Woman have been cast.
