SilverKite Community Arts’s national award-winning Intergenerational Theatre Company (ITC) produces original life-story based theatre productions for audiences of all ages. Since 2015, the ITC has toured 10 different productions to over 10,000 people in senior living communities, schools, libraries, and community centers throughout the Puget Sound.
The development of our theatre productions starts with selecting a group of actors from the community. We hold open, public auditions for each production. Intergenerational Theatre Company actors are chosen for their ability to tell stories and authentically engage with the audience not only as actors, but as people.
About “Sidewalks”
SilverKite will cast 4 actors of diverse age, gender, and ethnic / cultural identities for its Intergenerational Theatre Company production of “Sidewalks.” Must be 16 years or older to audition.
The show is a devised piece, so there is no script. During the rehearsal process we’ll build the show based on the life stories and experiences of the cast members.
Actors will be compensated $900 each, which includes 35 hours of rehearsal, 5 performances @ 45 mins each, and a small travel stipend. If we book more than 5 performances, actors will receive an additional $50 for each performance.
“Sidewalks” will tour in October / November 2023. These performances will be in-person, with necessary Covid protocols and precautions considered. All members of the cast / crew must be fully vaccinated by the time rehearsals begin.

The production will be directed by Mckenzie Wilson, a troupe member of the Intergenerational Theatre Company’s 2022 production of ‘Phoenix’ and SilverKite’s Programs Assistant.
Max Sarkowsky, also a part of the Intergenerational Theatre Company’s 2022 production of ‘Phoenix’ troupe, will return as Tour Manager and Sound Designer for ‘Sidewalks’.
Performances / Tour
“Sidewalks” will tour to area schools, community centers, and senior living communities in the greater Seattle area from Oct 2 – Nov 13. Performances will be scheduled during the day (9am - 4pm) on Mondays, Tuesdays and / or Saturdays based on the cast’s schedules and availability. The tour schedule will be set before rehearsals begin.

Auditions will be held July 17th and 18th from 6pm - 8pm at the SilverKite office in Seattle (5508 35th Ave NE Suite 100 Seattle, WA 98105). Callbacks (if needed) will be held on July 20th from 6-8pm. Please sign up for a one hour audition slot. During your hour with us, you will engage in improvised storytelling exercises and will perform a 3-5 minute personal story related to the show's theme ("Sidewalks").
