About the project and the company

Tales of the Alchemysts Theatre, a Jewish Literary performance company, is currently seeking cast and crew members for their upcoming tour, “The Ruins of Memory: Women’s Voices of the Holocaust,” a performance piece composed of selections from fiction, poetry, music, song, and oral histories from both the Ashkenazi and Sephardic communities.  We are especially looking for people with an interest in the material.

Rehearsals will be in the evening M-Th and in the late morning/afternoon on either Saturday or Sunday. We anticipate booking 12-16 performances during a four week touring period with most gigs scheduled in the evenings and week-ends. We will tour mainly within King-Snohomish-Pierce counties.

Audition requirements

Actor will be asked to read from sides and sing a folksong, in any language, a cappella.

Character breakdown / Project needs
We are committed to keeping our casting open in terms of race, ethnicity, gender and other identities.
One actor of any race to play male identifying roles ranging from teens to mid 30’s.
Singing and language
Must sing well and be comfortable working with a range of languages and accents.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required once cast. Actors must be fully vaccinated by the time rehearsals begin
Stage Manager
Stage manager will manage both rehearsals and touring performances.
