About the project and the company

Antarctic Cities is a new short film aiming to shoot January of 2021. Written and directed by Brendan Hickey, whose past work has screened at film festivals such as The Austin Film Festival, The Seattle International Film Festival, The National Film Festival for Talented Youth, The Chicago International Film Festival’s Cineyouth, and won two Student Emmy Awards.

The film is a surrealist magical realism political satire set in an alternate version of the 1960s. It focuses on mounting tension in an emerging cold war, between Antarctica and The Democratic Republic of Absynia
