Open to All Identities: We believe in the power of diverse voices and stories. All races, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientations are welcome and encouraged to audition. Note: This production is actively working to improve representation and inclusivity. We appreciate your support as we strive to evolve and grow as a production.
Tone and Content: “Uncle Mike Ruins Christmas” is a comedy that pushes boundaries and revels in its humor. Improvisers should be prepared for provocative subjects and themes that might be triggering for some individuals. Actually, that’s a huge understatement – we’ll blow by the provocative subjects and right to the deeply profane ones BUT – while our show is designed to challenge “feel-good” holiday stories (Hallmark movies, church plays, community theater, etc) – we wholeheartedly embrace the holiday spirits as they are celebrated by our audience members and subvert expectations in an effort to spread holiday cheer.
What We’re Looking For:
- +2 years improvised performance experience or +5 years scripted stage performance experience and comfortable improvising on stage
- 18 years old or older
- Fearless, quick-witted performers comfortable with provocative and “blue” content
- Collaborative attitude, open to notes
- Willingness to explore dark subjects, characters, and stories
