Auditions for comedy Good Morning, Bill outdoors in South King County parks

Burien Actors Theatre

About the project and the company

Burien Actors Theatre (BAT) is looking for 6 actors ranging in age from 18 to 70-plus for a multi-racial production of the comedy Good Morning, Bill, adapted by P.G. Wodehouse and further adapted by Rachel Rene.

BAT is seeking actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities for all roles to create a multi-racial cast.

ABOUT THE SHOW

This will be a 90-minute one-act version of the play to be performed outdoors in BAT’s fourth summer in the parks. There will be 4 to 6 performances between July 14 and August 20, 2023. All performances will be in south King County parks and will be weekend matinees or evenings. The parks range from concrete to grass, so the ability to maneuver over uneven ground will be important.

Synopsis: Bill is on vacation, where he has met the attractive Lottie. Sensing Bill’s interest fading, Lottie has a fit of hysterics, and Dr. Sally Smith is called in. Bill instantly falls for Sally, who remains aloof. After Bill returns home, he continues to pine for Sally. Bill’s uncle believes Bill is missing Lottie, and hatches a plan to bring Lottie and Bill together again. Complications ensue.

COVID-19 EXPECTATIONS

BAT has established protocols to minimize losing rehearsals or canceling performances due to Covid. All members of the team must be fully vaccinated and have received at least one booster by the start of the rehearsal process. While not required, we strongly recommend receiving the bi-valent booster prior to the rehearsal process beginning.

All members of the team will be required to test regularly and report any possible Covid exposures.

Everyone will be masked during in-person auditions and in-person rehearsals until we reach tech. Actors will be unmasked for performances.

BAT will provide masks and tests. Masking and other Covid protocols will adjust as needed to meet government requirements and/or enhance safety.
