Auditions for "Greater Tuna"
Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts
About the project and the company
ed Curtain is excited to announce auditions for “Greater Tuna,” written by Jaston Williams, Ed Howard and Joe Sears, directed by Scott B Randall. Auditions start at 6:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 3 and 4, 2023. Performances are slated for March 3-19.
The long-running off-Broadway hit features two actors creating the entire population of Tuna, Texas in a tour de farce of quick-change artistry, changing costumes and characterizations faster than a jack rabbit runs from a coyote. Two actors, 20 characters, and a barrel of laughs, y’all. –Concord Theatricals
This project requires two high-energy, quick-thinking actors to rapidly shift between the numerous residents of Tuna, Texas. Although traditionally played by two male-presenting performers, this production is open to any gender.
Location of Audition
Auditions and performances will be held at the Red Curtain Arts Center, located at 9315 State Ave #J in Marysville, WA. The theatre is in the same shopping center as Goodwill, with the entrance around back, behind the beauty school.
The show will be cast from group auditions where actors will have the opportunity to read scenes from the play with each other. There will be no need for monologues. Be prepared to make bold, hilarious character choices, to demonstrate your versatility and ability to think on your feet. When you send in your resume, please label your head shot and resume with your name in the title.
