Auditions for LIVVY & THE FOREST CREATURES, an eco-fable for young audiences

About the project and the company

Maple Valley Creative Arts Council presents LIVVY AND THE FOREST CREATURES, an original eco-fable in one-act for young audiences by Margaret O’Donnell and directed by Miriam BC Tobin.

Here’s a synopsis:

A housing corporation is getting ready to clear-cut the old-growth forest next to Livvy’s house for a new luxury development, and some forest beings and their city-slicker allies seem to think Livvy can do something about it. She’s heart-broken about her beloved forest, but her dad is working for the corporation! Should she be loyal to the forest, or to her dad?

Auditions: Fri Jun 16, 3:00 – 8:00 pm

Rehearsals: Jul 10 – 14, Jul 24 – Aug 10, every Mon – Thurs, 3:00 – 6:00 pm

Tech rehearsals: Aug 14 – 16, 3:00 – 7:00 pm

Dress rehearsal: Thurs Aug 17, 6:00 – 9:00 pm

Other details

Actors must have reliable transportation and be committed to all rehearsals and performances. Because of the nature of indoor rehearsals and close proximity of actors, all actors are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. We suggest masking during rehearsals and when offstage during performances. We encourage BIPOC and LGBTQA+ actors to audition.

Audition requirements

Perform a monologue of your choice. You may also be asked to read a side from the script at the audition.
