Auditions for Youth Actors and Adult in New Eco-Fable Play

Maple Valley Arts Council

About the project and the company

Seeking youth and adult actors for LIVVY AND THE FOREST CREATURES, an eco-fable in one act for young audiences. Written by Margaret O’Donnell, directed by Miriam BC Tobin, and presented by the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council.

The play will run Aug 4 – 13, 2023 with shows on Fri Aug 4, Sat Aug 5, Fri Aug 11, Sat Aug 12, and Sun Aug 13.
Rehearsals will start Jun 27 and will be Mon – Thurs, 3 – 6pm. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will be held at the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council Center in Maple Valley, WA.

A housing corporation is getting ready to clear-cut the old-growth forest next to Livvy’s house for a new luxury development, and some forest beings and their city-slicker allies seem to think Livvy can do something about it. She’s heart-broken about her beloved forest, but her dad is working for the corporation! Should she be loyal to the forest, or to her dad?

Audition requirements

Actors will perform a one-minute monologue of their choice and may also read from the script during the audition. Scripts and a selection of monologues will be provided to those auditioning. If you are interested in the Assistant Director role, please sign up for an audition slot and be prepared to chat with the director about your interest in being part of this production. Actors and Assistant Director must have reliable transportation and be committed to all rehearsals and performances. Because of the nature of indoor rehearsals and close proximity of actors, all actors are required to be vaccinated against COVID. We encourage BIPOC actors to audition.
