About the project and the company

About the Intergenerational Theatre Company

SilverKite’s national award winning Intergenerational Theatre Company creates and performs original life-story based theatre productions which tour to senior living communities, schools, libraries, and community centers in the Puget Sound area of Washington state.

Our Intergenerational Theatre Company has performed and toured 9 productions since 2015.  Over 10,000 people have seen our productions.

The development of our theatre productions starts with selecting a group of actors from the community.  We hold open, public auditions for each production.  Intergenerational Theatre Company actors are chosen for their ability to tell stories and authentically engage with the audience not only as actors, but as people.

About “Phoenix”

SilverKite is looking to cast 4 actors of diverse age, gender, and ethnic / cultural identities for its Intergenerational Theatre Company production of “Phoenix.”

The show is a devised piece, so there is no script. During the rehearsal process we’ll build the show based on the life stories and experiences of the cast members.

Actors will be compensated $1,200 each, which includes 40 hours of rehearsal, 15 performances @ 45 mins each, and a small travel stipend.  If we book more than 15 performances, actors will receive an additional $50 for each performance.

SilverKite will be touring its Intergenerational Theatre Company production of “Phoenix” in the fall of 2022.  At this time, we intend that this production will be done in person, pending guidance from the CDC.  All members of the cast / crew must be fully vaccinated by the time rehearsals begin.

This production is funded by a Group Arts Grant from 4Culture.
