Seattle Public Theater is proud to announce Christmastown by local favorite, Wayne Rawley, will be opening our 2021/2022 season. We are opening auditions for three roles.

Synopsis:

In this film noir-inspired holiday thriller, hard-boiled detective Nick Holiday investigates some un-holiday-like shenanigans taking place in Christmastown that sends him on a search for the truth about Big Red. Add a glamorous elf, a used-Christmas-tree salesman, a muckraking reporter, and a quick-thinking cab driver, and you have what the Seattle Times calls the “best new holiday romp of the year!”

Roles Available:

We are looking for versatile, improv familiar, and physical actors for Nick Holiday, Track 2 (Multiple Roles), and Track 3 (Multiple Roles).

Compensation:

This is a Non-Union contract. Each actor will receive a $1500.00 stipend for the run of the show, paid half on opening and half on closing.

Dates:

1st Rehearsal – October 18th, 2021
Tech – November 19th-24th, 2021
Opening – November 26th, 2021
Closing – December 24th, 2021

Callbacks:

If you are called back, we will be holding in person call-backs, with COVID protocols in place, at Seattle Public Theater on September 20th.

Covid Protocols:

Seattle Public Theater is requiring a COVID-19 Vaccination for all employees, therefore proof of vaccination status is required upon hiring. It should be noted that audience members will also be required to show proof of vaccination and be wearing a mask to attend any performances at this time. Notes on our 2021/2022 Season:

Christmastown is currently the only Mainstage show we are casting at the moment. We will have many other opportunities throughout the year that we will keep you in consideration for. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions.

Track 2 (All roles played by the same actor) -
Jingle Elf: A tough elf. Brighter than Jangle, but just barely. Rudy: A Cabbie. Virginia Ribbons: Called GINNY. A crack reporter forThe Christmastown Caroler. (Character has to hold a weapon) Lilian Nice: A Nice Cop. Lillian Naughty: Her Twin Sister
Track 3 (All roles played by the same actor) -
Tiny: A back alley denizen. Mrs. C: Santa’s wife. White hair, round glasses, plump and sweet as Xmas pie. No one ever crosses her twice. Doug Noble: Fast-talking used tree salesman. Drunk Santa: Ratty suit and beard. Not drunk. Clearer than he’s ever been in his life.
