Job Description

Costume Upper School Musical (mainstage) and or 8th Grade (black box) production. Includes managing costume budget for each production, fittings, coordinating with wardrobe manager to pull from existing stock when possible, purchasing/renting costume pieces when needed, and attending dress rehearsals.  UPPER SCHOOL MUSICAL- Show Title TBA. Rehearsals begin Sept. 8, 2021 (rehearses after school 3:15- 5:30). Tech/Dress Rehearsals: Oct. 28- Nov 2 (typically 3:30-9:00PM weekdays/10:00AM- 5PM weekends). Performances: Nov. 3, 4, 5, 6 @ 7 PM. Cast size: 30-50. 8TH GRADE SHOW Fall- Show Title TBA. Rehearsals begin Sept. 8, 2021 (rehearses as a class during the school day 2-3 days a week). Tech/Dress Rehearsals: Nov. 5 & Nov. 8. (typically after school 3:15-5:30). Performances: Nov. 9 & Nov. 10, 2021 @ 5:30 PM. Cast size: 15-22.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of costume design experience.

Desired Qualifications

Desire, interest, and enthusiasm for working with middle school and or upper school-aged students. Creative and imaginative problem-solver. Agility, influence, negotiation, and strong judgment & decision making skills. Ability to work effectively with all constituent groups - director, students, wardrobe manager and production teams. Strong organizational and communication abilities. A growth mindset with a passion for your subject matter and an engaging learning environment.

Other details

We're focusing on our fall shows now. We'll have an additional need for a Costume Designer for two mainstage and one black box show in the winter and a mainstage and black box show in the spring.
