About the project and the company

GreenStage is looking for Sound Technicians to join our 2022 Shakespeare in the Park team. Sound Tech is responsible for transporting, setting up our simple sound system that is used to amplify what’s happening on stage.

Our summer season consists of three tours, each of which needs someone to transport, set up, and run a simple sound system. We produce two full-length Shakespeare plays, and our Backyard Bard series consists of two shortened productions, both performed by the same four actors.

RELIABLE VEHICLE REQUIRED – Each production tours to several different locations in and around Seattle. Sound Techs are responsible for transporting, setting up, and running a simple sound system. .

The season runs from July 8 through August 13. We perform in public parks in Seattle, Fall City, and Burien, and may add additional venues as well. Performances are Friday – Sunday evenings, with matinees on weekends. Each production has around 18-20 total performances – 3 per weekend.

Rehearsals begin May 31 and will be Sunday afternoons and Monday through Thursday evenings. Tech week is July 3-7 with July 4th off.

As stated above, the sound system we use is only for amplifying what is happening on stage. We do not use recorded sound, or run sound cues. The system consists of 3 border (floor) mics, two small powered speakers on stands, a small mixing board, mic cables, extension cords and a small generator or battery power source, This setup will fit in the back seat or trunk of most cars.

NOTE: GreenStage is an all volunteer organization, but we do offer a stipend at the end of the run as a thank you and to help cover transportation expenses.
