Producers of “Spectacles of Ecdysiastic Pageantry” Lily Verlaine and Jasper McCann are casting for their 2023 season of Land of The Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker. (Rehearsals October 6-November 30 Performances December 1-28)

Land of The Sweets includes elements of burlesque, ballet, musical theater, and vaudeville. We seek to cast various ensemble and understudy roles in the productions.
This is a paid, contract employment opportunity. Show pay will be no lower than $100 per show performed, plus rehearsal stipend and audience gratuities.
The production seeks to employ persons with strong dance and theater backgrounds. We welcome dancers well-versed in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Striptease, Mime (not all roles require all skill sets and in an effort to expand the show’s material, there will be a time to showcase additional skills at the end of the audition).

Most, but not all roles call for lighthearted, glamorous and tasteful nudity. When such aspects are involved, performers wear glittering pasties and g-strings.
Audition requirements
Dancewear and character shoes are preferred. You will learn combinations from the production, taught by current company members: arrive warm and ready to dance. Please bring pointe or tap shoes if you are strong in those areas. There will be time at the end of the audition to showcase those skills
