Meet Me at Dawn

Radial Theater Project

About the project and the company

Radial Theater Project seeks two actors for the US premiere of Meet Me at Dawn by British playwright Zinnie Harris. The production will run at 18th & Union, opening February 11 and closing February 26. Rehearsals will start in January 2022. Depending on cast availability, we may hold some early table work rehearsals in December.

In Meet Me at Dawn, two women wash up on a beach following a boating accident. Dazed by their experience, they look for a path home. But they discover that this unfamiliar land is not what it seems – and that, though they may be together, they have never been further apart.

Unflinchingly honest and tenderly lyrical, Meet Me at Dawn is a modern fable exploring the triumph of everyday love, the mystery of grief, and the temptation to become lost in a fantasy future that will never be.

Meet Me at Dawn was originally produced at Traverse Theatre as part of the Edinburgh International Festival in 2017. The US premiere of Meet Me at Dawn is produced by Radial Theater Project and directed by David Gassner.

Location of Audition

Initial auditions will be on Zoom. Submitting prerecorded monologue auditions is also acceptable. Callbacks will be in person and are yet to be scheduled.

Other details

The script is available at: https://www.amazon.com/Meet-Me-Dawn-Zinnie-Harris-ebook/dp/B073DL7FX6

While the script has its share of British colloquialisms, we'll be working with the playwright to "Americanize" it. British accents are not required.

The play calls for some intimacy between the two actors, including touching and kissing. There is no nudity, either partial or full.

All cast members and other production team members must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to rehearsals. We're expecting to require that in-person audience members also be vaccinated, but in all matters of COVID-19 safety we'll follow then-current public health guidelines.

This production will be performed for a hybrid audience, with tickets sold for both in-person attendance and for a simultaneous live stream.
