Seattle Opera Auditions Boy Solo Role

About the project and the company

Seattle Opera will be holding auditions for the role of Young Malcolm in
X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X
to be performed Feb.-Mar.2024 at McCaw Hall.
Casting up to two boys who may alternate performances
Role is heavily dance oriented
(some singing, but this is secondary to the role)

Dance information: Looking for Black boy (approx. 9-12 years of age) who may be skilled in contemporary dance, jazz dance, street style, dance improvisation, and comfortable with being lifted/partnered. Come prepared to dance.

Singing information:  Please come prepared with one song of your choosing.  Sheet music required so accompanist can play along. Cannot sing a capella

Previous on-stage experience a plus.

Audition is Nov. 6, 2023 7p.
