Seeking Accompanist/Pianist ACTOR
Centerstage Theatre
About the project and the company
Centerstage Theatre is currently working on a socially distanced and safe-for-artists version of A 1940’s Radio Christmas Carol.
This role is the music director in the world of the show, and the performer will also help teach the actors their music (although they will mostly be responsible for themselves, you would provide rehearsal tracks and be the one playing for them during run throughs and making sure notes/rhythms are correct). There are no other instruments in the piece, so it’s just the keys! Once the show opens, you will be in character onstage.
We are seeking an actor of any gender who is proficient on the keys. You might be an actor with accompaniment skills, or an accompanist who doesn’t mind taking on a few lines and being seen onstage. There is no specified race nor age range for this role. It’s wide open!
All auditions and most rehearsals will be virtual. Show dates are currently Nov 27 – Dec 21, (subject to change).
Location of Audition
Virtual.
Other details
Centerstage Theatre creates equitable opportunities on stage and off. Diversity is the way forward, and we hire artists of all races, ethnicities, disabilities, identities, orientations, ages, and physicalities. You are welcome here.
Audition requirements
We will need to see your piano skills and your ability to improv on the keys a bit. Cold reading from the script (it's super easy we promise!).
