About the project and the company

Dare to Dance Seattle is seeking local dance artists and groups to conduct workshops in our first-ever summer outdoor festival, supported by an Arts in the Parks grant from the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture. The festival combines dance performances, audience-participation workshops, and cultural exchange. There will be four festival dates in July.

Our mission is to provide a rich variety of performing arts opportunities, celebrate diversity, and support culturally vibrant communities. We strive to build connections and engage people in new inspirational experiences that broaden their lives. We hope you will join us in this worthwhile endeavor! An honorarium will be provided for each workshop.

Job Description

Festival dates: July 9&10, Cal Anderson Park; July 30, Roxhill Park; July 31, Othello Park. Each festival date consists of multiple workshops during 1-5pm. For a workshop you would do a short performance (5-10 minutes) plus 25-30 minutes of instruction in the same dance style. You can apply for as many dates as you want. Final selections will be made after we evaluate all applications.

Required Qualifications

Dance artists and groups who have performed in professional or semi-professional settings, and who have solid experience with teaching choreography to dancers of all ages and skill levels. All dance styles are welcome.

Please apply by June 10 if you are interested in being part of the July 9/10 weekend; by June 20 if you are interested in the July 30/31 weekend.
