Seeking Latin Actor for production of A CLEAN HOUSE

About the project and the company

Valley Center Stage in North Bend, WA is doing a production of  A Clean House by Sarah Ruhl.

A whimsical and touching romantic comedy about love, loss, change and redemption, The Clean House takes place in what the author describes as ‘metaphysical Connecticut’, mostly in the home of a married couple, Lane and Charles, who are both doctors.  A serious career-oriented doctor, Lane has hired a quirky Brazilian maid, Matilde, who longs to be a comedienne, and is more interested in coming up with the perfect joke than cleaning. Virginia, Lane’s sister, loves to clean and becomes fast friends with Matilde. Tensions escalate when Lane’s husband, Charles, leaves her for his mistress, Ana, a passionate, older Argentinian woman upon whom he recently performed a mastectomy.

Award winning playwright Sarah Ruhl reminds us of what’s important in life, and that humor and beauty still enchant in the most unlikely places.

Rehearsal Dates

Introductions and Read-through dates are TBD until after casting is complete. Rehearsals will start on April 17, 2023.

 Schedule for 4/17/23 – 4/26/23: 

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays only, 7pm-9pm 

Schedule for 5/1/23 on: 

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 7pm-9pm
• Saturdays, 11am-2pm
• Sundays optional 11am-2pm

Rehearsal Location

Valley Center Stage @ the Sallal Grange, 1060 Stilson Ave SE, North Bend. The building is on the southern corner of the intersection of SE North Bend Way and SE Mt Si Road.

Performance Dates

June 2, 2023 to June 18, 2023. Performances will take place Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 pm. The Sunday matinee performance is at 2 pm. Call times TBD

• Week 1: Friday 6/2 (opening show), Saturday 6/3, and Sunday 6/4 
• Week 2: Thursday 6/8, Friday 6/9, Saturday 6/10, and Sunday 6/11 
• Week 3: Thursday 6/15, Friday 6/16, Saturday 6/17, and Sunday 6/18 (closing show)

Valley Center Stage @ the Sallal Grange, 1060 Stilson Ave SE, North Bend.

Other details

Rehearsals will be in person and everyone must be vaccinated in order to audition or participate in this show. Please be prepared to show documentation in order to audition. Audition requirements
