About the project and the company

The Shattered Glass Project is seeking a production stage manager to guide the production process, in collaboration with the producing artistic director, for the 2023 Incubator/Mentor Program One-Act Festival.
Start date: November 1, 2023 | End date: May 31, 2024
Approximately 8-9 hours/week from November 2023-March 2024, and approximately 16-17 hours/week in April-May 2024. Schedule and necessary working hours to be determined collaboratively.
The Production Stage Manager will be employed as an independent contractor and receive a monthly stipend of $1000 between November 2023-March 2024; the monthly stipend will be $2000/month for April-May 2024, for a total stipend of $9000. (Approximately $30/hour.)

Job Description

The Production Stage Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the production process for the Incubator/Mentor Program One-Act Festival runs smoothly from cold reading to final curtain call. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: ✦ Provide tactical and organizational support to the producer, director, actors, and production team throughout the production process. ✦ Schedule and coordinate rehearsals and help directors prepare for performances. ✦ Coordinate and lead technical rehearsals, attend performances and call the show.

Required Qualifications

KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: ✦ Broad knowledge of technical theater ✦ General skills in personnel and project management, with specific ability to juggle complex scheduling for rehearsals ✦ Experience calling cues during theatrical performances. ✦ Fondness for/good at multitasking under pressure ✦ Strong written and verbal communication skills ✦ Openness to a co-mentoring philosophy, i.e., to ability and willingness to both learn from and share knowledge with colleagues on all levels of experience. ✦ Commitment to uplift antiracist and social justice values. ✦ Willingness to collaborate ✦ Strong self-management and time-management skills ✦ Problem-solving abilities ✦ Drive to see projects through to completion ✦ Clear communication abilities ✦ Willingness to adapt to various project management and communication tools, depending on the project at hand

ABOUT THE SHATTERED GLASS PROJECT The Shattered Glass Project is a theatre company with the mission to amplify the voices of theatre artists who have been marginalized because of their gender or sex, including but not limited to cis and trans women, non-binary folks, and trans-masculine/trans-feminine folks, by providing unique opportunities to create and grow professionally. TSGP produces 1-2 mainstage productions, a one-act play festival, and 3-4 developmental readings or other developmental theatre projects each year, serving 50-100 artists and 500-1000 audience members. We are a fringe theatre company with aspirations.

All cast, crew and staff for in-person productions and activities conducted by The Shattered Glass Project are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, for the safety of all participants.
