About the project and the company

The Last Five Years is Jason Robert Brown’s intimate window into relationship, love, and loss.  Cathy, a struggling actress and Jamie, a budding novelist on the brink of wild success, are 20-somethings in New York who meet, fall in love, marry and divorce over the span of 5 years.. This funny, poignant, and devastatingly honest two-person production has enraptured audiences around the world with it’s spellbinding and emotional score and libretto.

We have our Cathy and a world class band but we are seeking our Jamie!

Character: Jamie Wellerstein – a Jewish Male 20-35, any ethnicity. VOCAL RANGE: A2-Bb4. Character arcs from an ambitious, aspiring novelist with a career on the rise to a man possibly blinded by success and ego. He is very lovable though makes poor choices that sabotage his own happiness and is described in the script as the “marvelous novelist Jew.” Role requires great range of both vocal qualities and emotional expression.

Musical Direction work begins early with full rehearsals beginning March 1st.
