SOUND TECHNICIAN reports to the Technical Director and works closely with other shop staff to support the School’s Mission, Vision, Values, & Commitments.

Two years of experience as Stage Technician I or equivalent experience and education.
Proficiency with sound installation and engineering. Experience in rigging, lighting, scenery, multi-media, painting, and/or props preferred, but not required. Knowledge of theatre industry standard safety protocols and procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings , drafting, flow diagrams/schematics. Experience in leading crews. Proficient in the operation and maintenance of a wide variety of shop tools and equipment, all within safety guidelines. Current with latest sound technologies and innovations. Knowledge of wired and wireless communication systems, such as Clear-Com. Soldering skills as pertains to sound equipment and cabling. Proficiency with QLab, and Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Familiarity with Yamaha Digital Consoles and Dante networks. Familiarity in fall protection system/equipment.
Conditions of Employment:
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds with assistance
Ability to climb and work on ladders
Ability to work at height up to 30 feet
Valid Driving license
Special Hours Requirements: May include some evening and weekend hours.
