YOUTH VOICES: Playwriting for Solo Performance Workshop - 2024 Student Cohort Application

About the project and the company

In partnership with Macha Theatre Works, Seattle Public Theater’s Education Program is excited to announce the 2024 programming of Youth Voices. This playwriting for solo performance workshop is for teens ages 13-18.   This program is funded by Seattle Public Theater and Macha Theatre Works and is free of cost.

Participants go through the process of making a personal story into a theatrical piece and develop an original work.  This series includes one-on-one weekly meetings with a professional Seattle Public Theater mentor, several group meetings, guidance throughout the process, a public workshop reading of the final piece and a culminating performance at Seattle Repertory Theater’s Youthfest on June 1st 2024!

Who can apply?:

Any teen ages 13-18! We envision a diverse and multiracial cohort that reflects our Seattle community. In alignment with our mission of serving historically excluded identities and emerging artists; actors of color, actors with disabilities, and queer and trans actors are highly encouraged to apply.
