Job Description

Taproot Theatre Company is seeking an AEA Stage Manager for our Winter production of "Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women" by Lauren Gunderson, directed by Marianne Savell. Rehearsal and Performance Breakdown Below:

SM Prep Week: 10/12-10/17
Rehearsals: 10/19-11/9
- Monday, 10/19: 6-10pm
- Tuesday, 10/20: 6-10:30pm
- Wednesday, 10/21: 6:30-10:30pm
- Typical Schedule following - M-Th: 7-10:30pm, F: 7-10pm, S: 10am-4pm
First Night on Set: Tuesday, 11/10: 6-11pm
Tech/Dress: 11/11-11/16: 6-11pm (S: 12-9:30pm)
Invited Dress: 11/17: 6-11pm
Previews: 11/18 & 11/19: 6-11pm
Opening Night: 11/20: 6-11pm
U/S Put-in Rehearsals: Tuesday, Nov 24h & Dec 1st 6-10:30pm

Performances:
Evening: Nov 20-Dec 26, Wed-Saturday with 7:30pm CURTAINs
- Additional Tuesday Performances: 12/8 [tentative], 12/15, 12/22
- Possible Extension Week: Dec 28-31 (2:00pm and 7:30pm CURTAINs all days except 12/31 which only has a 2:00pm curtain)

Matinees*: ALL with 2:00pm CURTAINs
- ALL Saturdays (except extension week)
- Wednesday, Dec 9th
- Wednesday, Dec 16th
- Wednesday, Dec 23rd

*All weekday matinees and most Wednesday shows include a brief talkback to follow

TTC is an SPT organization, Category 4, compensating at a rate of $766.80/wk. All rehearsals and performances take place at Taproot Theatre in Greenwood - Seattle, WA.

Required Qualifications

The Stage Manager is an integral member of the technical team. They lead the stage management (SM) team through the process from Prep through Archive/Closing. Applicants should have experience in stage management, preferably with Equity stage managers or on an Equity contract. They are NOT REQUIRED to be a member of the Actors' Equity Association union. Stage Managers are expected to be flexible and timely, with knowledge of and/or motivation to learn how to navigate a short rehearsal and tech process. The SM arrives on time, is proactive, works with each member of the production team, and informs the company of any notes in a timely fashion.
