Job Description

The Facilities Assistant works with Technical Facilities Manager to maintain & improve the TPS facilities,
provide theatrical technical support for TPS’s three performance venues, maximize space rentals in all
TPS studios and theatres, and give our renters and TPS Resident Companies a positive experience. They
work closely with TPS staff to ensure smooth operations of the Space4Arts Program which provides
25,000 sq ft of affordable rental spaces for the artistic community. This position involves flexible
scheduling with required in-person availability (our HQs is in the Armory Building at Seattle Center),
some regular business hours, and on-call availability. The Facilities Assistant will work with performance
renters to ensure that they have successful productions; ensure that TPS spaces are fully accessible,
removing any barriers preventing anyone with physical or other limitations/challenges from using the
spaces; and support TPS’s EDI goals, especially relating to facilities access.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to issues of equity and inclusion.
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
Ability to lift and carry up tp 50 lbs.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and brimming with initiative.
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years in technical theatre.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, manage time, and drive projects through to completion and meet deadlines.
Fast learner with strong conflict resolution and troubleshooting skills.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with a wide range of technical theatrical equipment, including lighting, sound,
assisted listening, video projection systems
- Lighting: ETC Ion XE, and older ETC boards
- Sound: digital & analog systems, including Behringer 32X console
Able to complete OSHA 10 Training

$10/wk tech reimbursement for each week worked.
