Theatre Puget Sound will be out of office on September 7th for Labor Day, so same-day reservations will not be available during that time and On-Call support will be limited.

This weekend TPS is also partnering with Bumbershoot, so our rehearsal studios will be fully in use by the performing arts festival throughout Seattle Center. This means no reservation requests will be processed Saturday through Monday.

Melissa Hines Voting is OPEN

The Gregory Awards often recognize performers, but the performing arts are built by countless hands backstage. The Melissa Hines Behind the Scenes Award is given each year to an individual who has worked tirelessly “backstage” in support of our performing arts community. This honor is named after Melissa Hines, in memoriam, who was the stalwart managing director of the Empty Space Theatre, a board member of various arts institutions, and served in the Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs.

We want candidates with the same passion and drive that Hines brought to the performing arts. This might be a dynamo staff person working on the business side of theater, a volunteer who always comes through, a stage manager or backstage crew who goes above and beyond, the front of house team welcoming patrons into the space. The award specifically honors those who make a significant impact in the current year. The 2026 recipient will be selected from submitted nominations which open TODAY August 15th and Close September 15th. Sponsored by Scanduzzi Krebs.
