Arwen Dewey

Arwen was raised on a mix of 1940s jazz and 1960s folk-pop, then ran away from home in her early 20s to study opera in Paris. After training as a coloratura soprano for several years, she was adopted (through marriage) by a South American family: the resulting mishmash of musical passions has been the soundtrack of her life ever since. Arwen performs around Seattle and the Puget Sound in musical theater, international theater, children’s theater, and as a featured singer with the Victor Janusz Band. Favorite roles include Elsa Von Grossenkneuten in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (Centerstage), Susan in Company (Renton Civic), Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (New Muses), Inès in Huis Clos [No Exit] (Théâtre des Enfants Sans Souci), multiple woodland animals in A Year With Frog and Toad (SecondStory), Cathy in The Last Five Years (Act One), and Mabel in Pirates of Penzance (STAGEright). www.arwendewey.com
