Sydney Maltese

Sydney Maltese is an actor, writer, and legal advocate with roots in northeastern Ohio. Seattle theater credits include Our Country’s Good (Strawberry Theatre Workshop) as Liz Worden, The Tempest (Seattle Shakespeare Company) as Ariel, Peeling (Sound Theatre Company/Broadway World Seattle Award nominee) as Beaty, Twelfth Night (Off Road Shakespeare) as Dame Toby Belch, and The Journey of the Saint (eSe Teatro/ACT Lab) as Rosalindo. Her next project is Hamlet with Off Road Shakespeare, currently postponed. In all her work, she is an advocate for the representation of all bodies and abilities onstage. Sydney is an Associate Artist with Parley, and in such capacity has helped bring to life new work by local playwrights, including The Mermaids and This Pleasant Prison by Katherine Jett,  Anton by Brian Dang, Little Brother’s Body by drew david combs, and Iguazú and About Marilyn by Julieta Vitullo.  She is a graduate of Marietta College, where she studied communication and sang in the Concert Choir and Oratorio Chorus. Sydney is also a legal advocate at the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
