Casting Call for Short Film - Highway 45

About the project and the company

“A tall tale from rural Washington, a world weary bartender tells the cautionary tale of a murderous spirit that prowls the parked cars along Highway 45.“

Highway 45 is a short film shooting this June. We’re making this film specifically for festival runs and hope to use it as a proof of concept when applying for funding in the future.

Shooting dates are currently scheduled for June 3rd, 4th and 5th. 2 rehearsal dates will be decided with input from actors. Filming will be taking place in and around Enumclaw Washington. It is recommended that applicants be based near Seattle, Tacoma or Olympia Washington. If you are outside these areas and choose to apply for this role, please be prepared to find lodging or cover a section of the drive to set.

Unfortunately we do not have the ability to compensate monetarily. Gas costs relating to the project will be reimbursed. Meals will be provided on set. You will be continually appreciated.

Audition requirements

In-person auditions will be held May 13th at the Northeast Public Library (6801 35th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115). Optional remote (Zoom) auditions will be held on May 14tht. We will go over several performances, chat a bit, and confirm details. Please come prepared with availability information for the main shoot dates. Callbacks will happen on May 17th, most likely at the Northeast Library.
