Fearing that the grip she’s had on her young daughter, Lucy, is quickly loosening, Cheri is at a crossroads. During a heated argument, Lucy storms out to her car and hits a pedestrian – killing him instantly. Unfazed, Cheri takes matters into her own hands to dispose of the body and fix the problem. As a horrified Lucy tries to stop her, Cheri recognizes that her daughter’s freedom isn’t the only thing in jeopardy. If she doesn’t realize the error of her ways, Cheri could lose the one thing that ever mattered… forever.

Character breakdown / Project needs
Cheri
Female, 40, any ethnicity Cheri is “new money rich” with a parenting style that can only be described as transactional – she provides her daughter with a life of luxury and expects obedience in return. Perhaps if she had been raised differently she’d know better than to throw money at every problem that comes her way; however, this is all she has ever known. She loves her daughter more than anything else in the world, but, ultimately, everything is done under her terms. Cheri cannot bear the thought of Lucy moving away for college, leaving her completely alone and unable to cope with her various traumas.
Lucy
Female, 18, any ethnicity (only casting 18+) Lucy is a passionate 18-year-old on the verge of a new chapter. The problem is, her entire life has been controlled by her mother. She’s developed a sharp wit and strong resentment, but very little sense of self. Her only goal is to build a life outside her mother’s grasp. But Lucy is still young and has a hard time letting go of the hope she has for her mother to finally be her mom — especially when she gets herself into trouble.
