About the project and the company

DNA is casting for (2) performers for (2) upcoming commercial product videos for Golden 1 Credit Union.

Video #1 (Free Checking): We’re looking for (1) female (any ethnicity) “regular person” type actor, who plays as age 20-30, to deliver the brand’s message in a relatable, trustworthy tone without coming across as sales-y. 

Video #2 (Market Rate Checking): We’re looking for (1) male (any ethnicity) “regular person” type actor, who plays as age 45-50, to deliver the brand’s message in a relatable, trustworthy tone without coming across as sales-y.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Tuesday 6/13 at 5pm

CLIENT: Golden 1 Credit Union

WHAT: NON-UNION commercial video for checking product

PAY: $500 Session (10-hour day) + $2000 Buyout (all fees + 20%)

USE: All spots/scripts/reads/alt lines included in the session and buyout fee. All Internet uses (including but not limited to digital, social, new media, paid and organic media, OTT/Streaming, CTV, digital stills/screengrabs) and industrial, including all lifts, variations/versions and cut downs. 2 years; internet (organic – worldwide; paid – state of CA); industrial (state of CA); agency and client historical uses in perpetuity

DELIVERABLES: (1) :30, (1) :15, (1) :06 – all versions of the same script

CASTING BREAKDOWN & AUDITION DIRECTION

ROLE #1 (FREE CHECKING) BREAKDOWN:

Gender: Female
Age: Plays as 20-30 years old
Ethnicity: Open to all
Character Traits:
– A young person who’s in the early stages of their career but is financially independent
– She is confident, smart, cool, witty, chill, and down-to-earth
– She expresses her personality through the way she dresses, her hair, and her make-up
– Her tone should feel conversational & casual, like talking to a friend
– She should deliver the brand’s message without coming across as sales-y or condescending
– Real life references: Zendaya, Saoirse Ronan

ROLE #1 (FREE CHECKING) AUDITION DIRECTION:

This role involves walking and talking to camera, as well as gesturing to animations on screen. For audition purposes, remain seated and record yourself speaking to camera as if you’re letting a close friend in on a secret.

We open on a young woman in a studio apartment, getting ready to go out.

YW: No one should have to pay to use their own money. That’s
why Free Checking from Golden 1 is really, truly free.
It’s commitment-free…
…worry-free…
…and I can’t get paid up to two days early with direct deposit.

[She holds up her phone.]

YW: So, I’m free to spend my money on all the things…

[She gestures as animations pop up around her.]

YW: …that help me be more… me.

[She finishes with a grin.]

ROLE #2 (MARKET RATE CHECKING) BREAKDOWN:

Gender: Male
Age: Plays as 45-50 years old
Ethnicity: Open to all
Character Traits:
– A established businessman with independent, financial freedom
– He is confident, trustworthy, calm, & easy-going
– He dresses in casual business attire
– His tone should feel conversational, like a friend sharing advice
– He should deliver the brand’s message without coming across as sales-y or condescending
– Real life references: Rob Lowe, Mark Strong, Idris Elba

ROLE #2 (MARKET RATE CHECKING) AUDITION DIRECTION:

This role involves walking and talking to camera, as well as gesturing to animations on screen. For audition purposes, remain seated and record yourself speaking to camera as if you’re letting a close friend in on your secret to success.

We open on a man sitting in his kitchen at a table with his laptop. He shuts it and speaks to the camera.

MAN: I’m always on the move.
And the new MarketRate Checking℠ account
at Golden 1 lets my money move with me.

[He gestures beside him as an animation appears.]

MAN: The more I put in, the more I get out…
…plus, I get the freedom of a checking account.

[He holds up his phone as he makes a deposit.]

MAN: Golden 1 is member-owned and available when and where I need them.
So, I’m free to keep moving…
…while my money continues to grow.

[He finishes with a grin.]
