Commercial Audition: 25-30yo Female

About the project and the company

DNA is an advertising agency based in Seattle. We are casting a performer for a commercial product video for Golden 1 Credit Union. We’re looking for (1) female (any ethnicity), “regular person” type actor who plays as age 25-30, to deliver the brand’s message in a relatable, trustworthy tone.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Tuesday, 11/15 at 5pm

WHAT: NON-UNION commercial video for credit card product

USE: 2 years; internet (organic – worldwide; paid – state of CA); industrial (state of CA); agency and client historical uses in perpetuity

KEY DATES:

• Callback Audition (Virtual): Monday 11/21 (backup: Tuesday 11/22)
• Shoot: Wednesday 12/7
• Fitting: 12/2, 12/5 OR 12/6

    • Confident and charismatic 
    • Friendly, smart, trustworthy, and relatable; a best friend figure
    • Her tone should deliver the brand’s message in a way that doesn’t come across as sales-y or condescending

VIDEO AUDITION SUBMISSION DIRECTION:
Record the following script directly to camera. You can use any similarly sized prop to sub for the credit card, such as a business card or folded sheet of paper. We will be over-laying animations on top of the footage, so there will be parts where we’ll need you to pause, pose, gesture, or look in various directions.

SCENE 1:
We open on Lia, sitting at a kitchen counter or table.
She’s holding the Golden 1 Member Rate Advantage card. 

Lia: I got the Golden 1 Member Rate Advantage Credit Card
to help me manage my money.

Pause and smile.

SCENE 2:
Lia: With its low rate, I can save a little more money…

Raise your non-card-holding hand up, with your palm flat and raised upwards, as if displaying a piggy bank. As you move on to the rest of the line, keep the hand in that position.

Lia: …that I can use to handle whatever comes up.

With the same hand, gesture to an object over your shoulder. 

Lia: You know how it goes.

CHARACTER IDEAS

Lia is a relatable bestie, with good advice. Feel free to incorporate any of the below, or bring your own ideas into the mix:

• She smiles broadly and has kind, expressive eyes
• She leans forward when making a point
• She doesn’t talk with her hands much, unless when gesturing to the overlaid animations
• When delivering a joke, it’s more of a wink than a big laugh
