Northwest Film Forum’s ACTION! Media Apprenticeship Program for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ filmmakers is casting for an upcoming narrative short film!!! It is entitled MASCOT, written by Kristine Ponten! Details below.

LOGLINE FOR “MASCOT”
Convinced it grants him special powers, a lovelorn young man resorts to dressing up as a teddy bear mascot on all of his dates.
ELLIOT (LEAD): Man, 25-35, Asian Descent
A lovelorn young man who resorts to dressing up as a teddy bear mascot on dates when he believes it gives him special powers. Self-conscious yet hopes to be noticed.
IVY (LEAD): Woman, 25-35, All Ethnicities
A young woman who would prefer to have her nose in a book than make small talk with others. Headstrong yet kind. Marches to the beat of her own drum.
JULIE (SUPPORTING): Woman, 25-35, All Ethnicities
A young woman who shows up for a date with Elliot. She is disinterested when he arrives dressed as a teddy bear.
TEEN (SUPPORTING): Man, 18-22, All Ethnicities
Jock-type who overheats in his costume at a Halloween party. This leads to him being nauseous in the party’s bathroom and trading costumes with Elliot.
