About the project and the company
Auditions for our 36th season of FREE Shakespeare in the Park will be April 14 and 15. Our summer shows will run from July 12 through August 18 in parks in and around Seattle.

2024 Season
TWELFTH NIGHT – Directed by Artistic Director Erin Day
HENRY VI, parts 2&3 – Directed by Zanne Gerrard
Backyard Bard plays are ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL and JULIUS CAESAR – Directed by Sarah Stillion
All three tours run from July 12 – August 18. Rehearsals start in June.
** Actors of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and body types/sizes are encouraged to audition. **
Our productions are largely ensemble based, with some actors taking on multiple roles. We are interested in seeing actors who have experience in outdoor theater, but all actors are welcome.
Twelfth Night and Henry VI, parts 2&3 will each have a cast of 12, Backyard Bard has a cast of 4. ALL ROLES ARE OPEN.
Each of our productions tours to approximately twelve outdoor park locations in and around Seattle.
Audition Dates:
Sunday, April 14 from 12:30 to 6:00 pm
Monday, April 15 from 6:45 to 10:00 pm
Callbacks will be Sunday, April 21 and Monday, April 22
Auditions will be held at Dakota Place Park in West Seattle.

Audition Requirements:

- Prepare 2 Shakespeare or classic monologues, at least one in verse.
- We encourage you to chose monologues that you are inspired by, not necessarily by the gender of the role.
- Bring 3 copies of your head shot and resume (one for each production.)
- We strongly suggest familiarizing yourself with the plays in our season prior to auditioning.
Actors are paid a $500 stipend at end of run.
