SYNOPSIS

It’s Double Dare meets Noises Off! Coming off a PR disaster, the creative team behind a late-1980s kids’ cable network is on the eve of launching a high-energy, neon-colored competition series. Will they succeed, or will it be a slime-a-riffic, televised, darkly comic catastrophe? GET GUNKED!

ABOUT ANNEX
Annex Theatre is a democratic collective of theatre artists dedicated to creating bold new work in an environment of improbability, resourcefulness, and risk.

Annex produces plays by living playwrights and helmed by local directors, ranging from radical reinterpretations of classic scripts and ensemble-generated devised spectacles to dynamic solo performances and evocatively relevant plays.

Annex Theatre strives to create an environment of inclusivity and parity. We are seeking people who carry enthusiasm and investment in the development of new work as well as diverse representation in gender, race, ethnicity, onstage and off.

Audition requirements

Send a pre-recorded video link (unlisted YouTube preferred) of either your best comedic monologue or tell a story. Stories can be about your favorite television show or movie from your childhood, your first job, or about a time when things went wrong during a play you were in. Please keep monologues and stories under two (2) minutes. This creative team is looking for a diverse group of eight (8) actors. Though characters are specifically gendered, they can be cast across the gender spectrum. Likewise, though the characters have specific ages, we’re casting a wide net in terms of performer ages, as long as you are at least 18 years of age. Script and sides will be by request only.
