"Strawberry Cobbler" Seeking Local Talent

About the project and the company

We are seeking auditions for the Mother, and Father of our lead, Thomas, played by Wylie Soltes.

We are also looking to fill the role of Maggie, a kind, and wise strawberry farmer who is also Thomas’ boss.

Strawberry Cobbler follows Thomas, a young farmhand, during his last day living in Washington State’s rural Skagit Valley. Under the weight of his family’s expectations, Thomas has agreed to move into New York City with his girlfriend, a place he’s never been, and hardly understands. As the clock counts down on their departure, his anxiety surrounding the commitment reaches a boiling point, fueling a string of impulsive, and disruptive decisions.

Character breakdown / Project needs

Male, 40-60

Thomas stern, but caring father. “Do it right, or don’t do it all” would be his motto. He’s a goofy man, but a real go getter. Before redirecting his ambitions towards farming, and moving back to the countryside, he was a highly successful photojournalist. Like Thomas’ mother, he believes in his son, he has set a “great example” for him after all.

Female, 40-60

Thomas’ loving mother. She moved to the countryside with Thomas’ father. She was not raised in the valley, but embraces the surrounding beauty with open arms. Not a stay at home wife. She commutes into the city and works from home. She’s worried about her son, but believes he has the ability to go places if he doesn’t get in his own way.

Female, 35-60

Thomas’ boss. Owns the farm where he works. She’s a strong, inviting woman. Wants to steer Thomas in the right direction, and will genuinely miss his company. Must have a valid drivers license - role involves operating a vehicle.
