Alyssa Kay

Alyssa has been performing in and around the Puget Sound for most of her life. Her training includes a strong background in physical theater including Suzuki, Viewpoints, commedia dell’arte, and mask, as well as text study, classical voice, Shakespeare, and dance. She earned her BA in Drama from the University of Washington in 2005 and later studied at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. Alyssa is also a certified actor combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and serves as the SAFD’s Northwest Regional Representative. She has worked locally as a fight choreographer, intimacy director, and movement coach and is passionate about the physically and emotionally safe portrayal of violence and intimacy onstage

Alyssa has worked with numerous local theater companies over the years, including Sound Theatre Company, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Taproot Theatre, Book-It Repertory, Off Road Shakespeare Company, Harlequin Productions, Live Girls!, GreenStage, and more. Her recent film work includes the feature films “Penny Palabras”, “Shadowed”, and “Beach Town”, the short films “Dark Dungeons” and “Love and War”, and the web series “JourneyQuest” and “Dead Drift”. For film, commercial/industrial, and voiceover she is represented by Melissa Baldauf of Big Fish NW.
