Anthea Carns is an Alaska-raised, Pittsburgh-educated, and Seattle-loving theatre artist. She values collaboration and cooperation in all her work, and likes to keep an eye on both the big picture and the small details. She is an alumna of the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama (’11) and Intiman’s Emerging Artist Program (’15), as well as a founding member of Seattle’s HERON Ensemble. Since 2018, Anthea has worked as a producer with Pork Filled Productions, assisting with casting, production management, graphic design, and dramaturgy.
Anthea created and continues to host Bard In A Bar, a tipsy Shakespeare “karaoke” event running since 2014. In 2019, she and Lauren Freman won the People’s Choice Gregory Award for New Play for their musical, THE DEVIL AND SARAH BLACKWATER.
Anthea’s short plays have been produced by Horse In Motion, Book-It, SnowGlobed, The Panel Jumper, and the 14/48 Festival. Selected works can be found on the New Play Exchange.
