Northwest Film Forum’s ACTION! Media Apprenticeship Program for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ filmmakers is casting for an upcoming narrative short film!! It is entitled BAB’S BOUQUETS, written by Jasira Andrus! Details below.

LOGLINE
A wealth widower’s promises to his deceased wife keeps a local floral shop afloat. But when he finds a new love, the two owners scheme up a plot to keep his business.

Character breakdown / Project needs
NIA (LEAD) Woman, 25-35, Black
The co-owner of a failing flower shop, Nia disguises herself as the ghost of their shop’s main customers dead wife. Caring and a hopeless romantic, her idealization of love fuels her actions.
MAX (LEAD) Woman, 25-35, BIPOC
The co-owner of a failing flower shop, Max orchestrates the haunting of her former customer behind the scenes. Cynical and business oriented.
GIARDIA (SUPPORTING) Woman, 40-60, All Ethnicities
Owner of a balloon arrangement store, Giardia begins a romance with Clint. Threatened by Clint’s gestures toward his dead wife (and patronage of a rival business), Giardia gives him an ultimatum. Petty and snobby, while still being eccentric.
Clint (SUPPORTING) Man, 40-60, All Ethnicities
A wealthy widower, Clint purchases a bouquet every day to honor his deceased wife, until he is smitten by a new love interest, who opposes this act. Whimsical and romantic, he is easily swayed by the wants of his lovers.
