Emerald Theatre is located in South King County, serving Maple Valley/Black Diamond/Covington and surrounding communities. We have been entertaining audiences for the past 12 years with cabarets, plays, and youth theatre performances.
Emerald Theatre is presenting a one-hour performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in two outdoor spaces this summer: Lake Wilderness Arboretum and Soos Creek Botanical Gardens. Both beautiful gardens set the perfect backdrop to this tale of love in a magical forest at midsummer that will appeal to young and old alike. A perfect family show for theatre lovers of all kinds.
Experienced, emerging actors 18+ all encouraged to audition. We celebrate people of every gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and ability. We strive, always, to address and maintain a space that works towards anti-racism and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion)
Although we are keeping auditions to a minimum (2 days a week most weeks) to cut down on drive time and gas usage, there may be additional rehearsals added if absolutely necessary. Rehearsals June 27, 28, 30 (Table Work Zoom), July 5-July 28, August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (Dress/Tech Rehearsals), 6:30-8:30. Since parts are doubled, all actors will be called to all rehearsals.

You’ll need to submit 2 video recorded monologues, one comic and one serious, by either Shakespeare (not Midsummer) or his contemporaries. Headshot (or recent photo) and resume can be uploaded on the audition form at our website. Make sure your video is set to “unlisted” or “public” (not private). Proof of vaccination required to be cast.
* Depending on who we cast, Hermia’s parent can be either father or mother, with a preference to a mother.
