Job Description

Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of External Relations, the Sales Manager is a key role on the External Relations team, providing strategic thought leadership and partnership to the marketing, education and development teams. The Sales Manager oversees the Schools Sales Associate and Guest Service Associates (Ticket Office staff) and ensures audience development strategies that attract and retain audiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate on sales strategies to support acquisition and retention campaigns across marketing, development and education programs.
Develop phone, email outreach campaigns – includes script writing, strategic list segmentation, to improve audience experience and pipeline journey – developed in collaboration and to meet goals of the External Relations teams.
Work in Tessitura and Tessitura Analytics to ensure proper reporting for revenue pacing meetings and promotions are aligned for public activation.
Oversee the Ticket Office team ensuring proper hiring, training, scheduling and daily needs are met, and ensures the Ticket Office is in good working order, cleaned and maintained at all times and ensuring that procedures are up to date via printed training manual which include, but are not limited to, will call/waitlist policies, updating voicemail and email, maintenance of banks and the safe, deposits and batches, and aid the business office in settling discrepancies and problems in accounting.
Maintain accurate and timely communication with the Ticket Office as it relates to pricing and performance changes, promo offers, on sale and campaign launch dates, partnership collaborations, etc.
Work as a partner to the Company Manager to ensure the public is well served in its various interactions with the SCT Ticket Office, reporting any concerns to the Director of External Relations and/or Managing Director.
Other duties as determined by the Director of External Relations.

Required Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications: We seek someone with a deep commitment to theatre, young people, and SCT’s mission of reaching all people in our community and the skill to manage complex projects. Strong administrative skills are essential for this position. Flexibility, vision, energy, a collaborative approach and patience are other important qualities.
3+ plus years of experience in nonprofit field with experiences in Ticket Office management and sales, marketing, or fundraising.
Demonstrated ability to build a team with experiences working as both a player and coach.
Understanding of demand generation – pricing, capacity building, etc. – in a theatre or in a comparable organization.
Generally optimistic with friendly demeanor to inspire and motivate Ticket Office staff.
Strong attention to detail with focus on and care for building relationships and solving complex issues with “guest first” perspective.
Strong interpersonal communication and desire to create alignment and ability to maintain guest confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, and move multiple projects forward.
Expertise in MS Office and Tessitura.

Other Details

Physical Requirements & Work Environment: This role may start as a remote work position, but will transition to full on on-site full-time starting September 1, 2021. This role is responsible for scheduling the ticket office and is required to fill-in whenever other staff are unable.

Salary & Schedule: The Sales Manager is a full-time, non-exempt position. The salary is $47,500. The work schedule is primarily weekdays, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend work required, particularly September – June. Benefits include generous health care, dental and vision plans, as well as vacation, tickets to SCT shows, and free or reduced tuition for SCT classes.
