When New York City newswriter Felix is late for their weekly poker game, the gang (Murray, Roy, Speed and Vinnie) at sportswriter Oscar’s upper west side apartment grows concerned as he is usually obsessively punctual. When he finally does show up, it becomes apparent that Felix is suicidal over an impending divorce. Oscar offers Felix a place to stay while the dust settles, so Felix can regain his footing. But soon this arrangement, and their friendship, is tested by Felix’s obsession over his soon-to-be ex and their widely disparate lifestyles.
